We hope everybody will be enjoying the three day weekend! This week we are taking a break from the mentor sentences and focusing more on the fundamentals of writing. Your child will be writing an opinion piece. We will be teaching how to write a paragraph, edit, and revise. Even though the main focus will be writing, we will also be reviewing language arts concepts and reading strategies.

A Few Things!
This week we will be doing some fun activities for Valentine’s Day and Arizona’s birthday. On Friday, we will be having a celebration for Arizona’s Birthday. There will be a flyer going home with your child with more information, so please look for it! Our party will be in the afternoon. It is not required that anyone bring anything but if your child would like to bring in something, please make sure there is enough for the whole class (26 students).
Mid-Term grades will be posted soon. We can’t believe it already! If your child is receiving a D or below, a mid-term will be coming within the next two weeks. If they are getting C's and above, nothing will be sent home! You can go check their progress grades online. Please remember we still have another half.

2/12- Library Night 4:30-6pm

Welcome to February!
This Friday, the students will be taking their 4sight test! Please be sure they are here on Friday and on time, ready to test. This test takes about all day so they will need some rest Thursday night. This test is to help us learn about their knowledge and what they still need to learn for both reading and math.
Tuesday, February 10th- is a half day!
Thursday, February 12th- Library Night at 4-6pm and a PTSA meeting will follow.
